World-renown mezzo-soprano Susan Graham spent her Junior and Senior High School years growing up in Midland, Texas. During that time she was a three-year Texas All-State Choir member and earned numerous UIL Solo & Ensemble medals. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and a graduate degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Her Metropolitan Opera debut was in 1991.

 

Since that time, Susan has performed all over the world. Permian Basin Opera made the decision to recognize her tremendous artistic accomplishments by establishing an annual "Susan Graham Day" on September 5, 2006.
